October 6, 2016 – Weekend Begins Early for Many Teams

University of Colorado Women’s Soccer kicks off their weekend looking to stay unblemished in Pac-12 play when the host Oregon this afternoon at 3:30pm. Reigning National Player of the Week Taylor Kornieck will look to continue her national prominence ranked 29th nationally in goals scored, 34th in shots per game, and being tied for 3rd nationally in game-winning goals. The Buffs will look for their eighth straight win in today’s game at Prentup Field (read more here).

Colorado State Volleyball hits the road tonight for a match in Albuquerque tonight against New Mexico. The Rams are unbeaten in league play but have always faces tough challenges from the Lobos on their home court. The Rams, who are one of three unbeaten teams left in the Mountain West, have won 63 of their last 65 Mountain West matches (see the preview here). Air Force will also be in action at 6pm tonight hosting Utah State (see the preview here).

Coming off a 2-0 week, Northern Colorado Volleyball will kick off a 4-match homestand with Portland State at 7pm. Kortney Lockey had a pair of double-doubles in the two wins for the Bears last week. Portland State comes in to Bank of Colorado Arena 2-2 in Big Sky play (see the preview here).

Junior College Volleyball action will see Region IX South play in full swing this evening:

  • Northeastern JC at Lamar (7pm)
  • Trinidad State JC vs. McCook (7pm)
